The Original Swedish Meatball - SJ Rc4 1166 Testing as Amtrak X995

Before placing an order for a faster, lighter electric engine than the E-60, Amtrak tested this Rc4 on loan from Statens Järnvagar, the Swedish State Railways, and a French engine. The Swedish design won out, and was buildt on license by General Motors as the AEM-7. Picture taken at Ivy City Engine Terminal in Washington, DC.
