With A Little Help From My FriendsThe westbound Ocean didn't make it out of Halifax yesterday, and might not have today, if CN hadn't provided a working diesel to power the train.
Yesterday's problems were with air operated appliances in the Renaissance cars which had frozen. But the lead F40, 6400, had an inoperative air system too.
It took some time to get the SD70M-2 coupled on the front of the train, but train 15 left Halifax only 30 minutes late, although they will likely lose time, since the freight units are not geared to run as fast as the F40s.
