NERAIL Photo Archive - Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
The NERAIL Photo Archive's privacy policy is pretty simple. Probably about the simplest of any web site you'll find actually:
- The NERAIL Photo Archive will never knowingly share any of your contact information with any other party for any
marketing purposes whatsoever. Rest assured, you will not receive spam, newsletters, advertisements, or any other
junkmail as a result of contributing photos to the NERAIL Photo Archive, period.
- The NERAIL Photo Archive records the name, e-mail address, and computer IP address of the contributor of each photo.
This is done only because photographs are considered protected intellectual property under US and other laws, so it is
important to have a record of this information in case someone deliberately steals someone else's photographs and posts them
to the Photo Archive. (Unfortunately, this has been a problem in the past.) This information is retained for as long as the
photograph remains in the Photo Archive.
- If a photographer claims that their work has been stolen and posted to the Photo Archive without their permission, the
Photo Archive maintainer may, at his discretion, provide the contact information of the person who contributed the photo to
the photographer.
The NERAIL Photo Archive is run by an individual, Jeff Morris, as a service to the railfan community. It is not a business,
or even a non-profit organization, just something that Jeff does in his spare time. Jeff holds very strong feelings about
Spam, and other abuse of the Internet, and will not ever share any contributor's personal information for such purposes.
If you have further questions about how the privacy of your personal information will be handled, please feel free to
contact the Photo Archive maintainer.
